Tammy Cochran

Tammy Cochran

Who is she?
In 2001, Tammy Cochran released two singles: "If You Can" and "So What" off her debut self-titled album. However, it was her third single, "Angels in Waiting" that put her on the charts and helped country fans all over get to know Tammy. The deeply personal song touched many hearts around the world. After that, Tammy released "I Cry," yet another single off her debut album.
Despite releasing "Life Happened," the title track from her sophomore album to much acclaim, Tammy and Sony Nashville parted ways.
Since, Tammy has spent time writing songs and will release her third album, Where I Am on February 20, 2007!! This album is said to be her most personal project yet; Tammy wrote or co-wrote all twelve tracks on Where I Am. Though a formal tour has not been planned, she continues to book both acoustic and full band shows. With her vocal talent still very much intact, not to mention a knack for insightful songwriting, there's no doubt that Tammy is back in the game with a bang!! Care to take the "Ride of Your Life" w/ her?!

**** UPDATE ON THE "Angels in Waiting" SCRAPBOOK ****

Tammy Cochran

I interviewed Tammy during Fan Fair, 2006 prior to her performance at Billy Yates' Countriest of the Country benefit event. After our chat, I told her that I had something to give her that I'd been working on w/ the help of HER fans! :) Then, I gave her the book. She absolutely LOVES it and appreciates all her fans who took the time to send in stories and letters. She said that she would add into the book letters that she has in her own collection. I was so excited seeing her reaction when I gave her the book that it never dawned on me to capture a moment of her w/ the book.
However, I visited Nashville again recently, where we got together for lunch, after which I took this photo of her holding the scrapbook.
Mine and Tammy's heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to the scrapbook - it was definitely a success!! :)

Did y'all know?
** Like Garth Brooks, who was once told he'd be better off making a living back in Oklahoma than staying in Nashville, Tammy didn't listen to advice that she should pack it in, in Music City when she landed there to peddle her demo tape. "This one guy sat across from me at his desk - and he said, 'I'm sorry, but you need to go back to Ohio. I wouldn't sign you if you were the last singer in Nashville.'" That was discouraging but Tammy ended up back in Nashville in 1991 to stay.

** When asked who would be the next Female Vocalist, Martina McBride named two artists: Tammy Cochran and Rebecca Lynn Howard. I couldn't agree more!!
